  • 軸方向の伸びを考慮した紐の運動挙動に関する研究

    A flexible string is used at various places. Typical examples are a cable for power transmission and communication and a wire for cranes and elevators. In addition, there are the uses such as a fly-fishing line, climbing rope and a mowing machine to cut turf by turning a nylon string. In the past study, a string pendulum was paid attention as the basic motion of the string. An analysis model of the string pendulum was made and appropriateness of the modeling and the behavior of the string pendulum were clarified. However, axial elongation is not considered. In fact, the string extends in the axial direction by the mass of itself and the external force, and it is expected that the behavior of the string is affected by the axial elongation. Therefore, it is thought that it is necessary to carry out numerical simulation in consideration of the axial elongation in order to grasp the behavior of the string more exactly. In addition, it is indispensable to take elongation into account when we analyze the behavior of a string-formed structure producing the great amount of elongation such as the rubber string. In this study, an analysis model considering axial elongation is made. The behavior of the string pendulum and the behavior when the string is given initial elongation and is released are paid attention and appropriateness of the modeling is verified by comparing experiment results and analysis results.

    The rocking vibration with friction is focused in this study. The fall down conditions of the rocking system with friction are clarified. Rocking vibration is the rotational motion around the both ends of the structure and occurs when the structure is excited. In this report, the behavior of single-degree-of-freedom rocking system and two-degree-of-freedom rocking system with friction are taken into consideration. An analysis model is proposed and the response is calculated in the case that the structure is excited by sinusoidal wave and seismic wave. In order to estimate the parameters to prevent the fall down in a simple manner, two state judgement maps are proposed. One is the “Input variation map” focusing on the parameters of input sinusoidal wave and the other is the “Form variation map” focusing on the parameters of the structure form. From the analysis results, it was possible to clarify the basic characteristics of the rocking vibration with friction from the aspect of the input waves and the dimensions of the structure.

    Lure fishing and fly-fishing have been positioned as sports deliberately different from the traditional Japanese fishing-style. In the case of fly-fishing, casting is the element which anglers must master in order to cast a fly, done so by using the weight of a line. This study uses experimental and computational analysis to investigate the dynamic behavior of a fly line. Fly-fishing is constituted by various elements, but the importance that casting holds is extremely large. Fling speed, the casting process and the loop shape of the line while in flight are important that casting holds is extremely large. Fling speed, the casting process and the loop shape of the line while in flight are important for the proper presentation of flies. Moreover, the shape of a fly line is also important for a long cast or controlled cast. Fly is a lure that imitates an aquatic insect or a small fish, and becomes the prey of the target fish. And, there are countless of fly patterns. Therefore, anglers necessary to select an appropriate rod or line according to the size of the fly. In this paper, a rod, a line and arms are modeled by using rigid bodies and links. The time history behavior of the model is calculated by pseudo angler velocity of the arms. The validity of the model in detail is investigated. And, proper rod and line in accordance with the fly of the size is verified.

    The purposes of this study are to propose the seismic isolator which has the new characteristic using the thrust bearing, and to propose a simple method for the seismic isolation design. It is thought that the seismic isolator using the thrust bearing depends on the seismic input motion because it is nonlinear system with the geometric nonlinearity. Therefore, it is found that the response magnification changes with respect to the maximum acceleration of the seismic wave and the rotation spring constant, and the domain which has the response reduction effect on a response reduction map was acquired. It is thought that the proposed seismic isolator has the following characteristics from the analytical result. The initial state of the isolator is important in order to acquire the response reduction effect to the various excitation directions. The response reduction effect is small in the case of a long-period earthquake ground motion, and the seismic isolator carries out seismic isolation effect by making a rotation spring constant small. The response reduction effect is large in the case of a short period earthquake ground motion, and the rotation spring constant of the seismic isolator should be enlarged not to the response becomes unstable. Moreover, it is possible to make the seismic isolation design simply by applying the response reduction map.

    This paper deals with the response reduction effect by friction under 2-dof system. The friction behaviour is effective for dissipating seismic energy. Therefore, in recent years, the installation of an isolator and a damper with frictional element in industrial facilities has been investigated. In addition, the seismic response is reduced by the frictional vibration occurring between piping and support system. However, the seismic response of a 2-dof friction system depends on system parameters such as natural frequencies and the mass ratio of the structure by support. A great deal of time is required for non-linear analysis to obtain optimum system parameters. The present study deals with the "Response Reduction Map" for a 2-dof friction system. This map shows the area that the response magnification is less than 1 and less than the response of a linear system. Firstly, the response reduction map by actual seismic wave is shown. Secondly, the response reduction map by the artificial seismic wave calculated from the design spectrum is shown. Optimum friction forces for reducing the seismic response of 2-dof friction system can be easily obtained by this map without non-linear time history analysis.

  • 初期ねじれを有する長柱および梁の振動特性に関する研究

    For the past several years, large scale earthquakes happened. A lot of industrial facilities were damaged. For example, a lot of power plants were stopped in The 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake or The Southern Hyogo prefecture earthquake in 1995. These earthquakes have larger acceleration level than the seismic design level. Therefore, the earthquake proof measures are required. In this study, earthquake proof effect of the beam and the long column having initial twist is focused. The design guidelines for application to the pre-twisted beam structure and the long column structure is proposed. The pre-twisted beam and long column are modelled by FEM and calculated. The natural frequency of the pre-twisted beam and long column are related to the Youngs modulus, density, length and cross-sectional area. The tendency of the natural frequency respected to the total twisted angle and the aspect ratio of the cross-section is obtained considering the vibration mode and the natural frequency. Furthermore, when attention is focused on the vibration mode, the influence of the total twisted angle is different for the modal shapes, and the case where the modal shapes are interchanged is shown. The acceleration response to the vibration input is determined by the natural frequency of the primary cross-section, the aspect ratio and boundary conditions. In order to evaluate the response reduction effect, the acceleration amplification respected to the total twisted angle and the 1st natural frequency of the system is analyzed. And the response reduction map is proposed. Using this map, it is possible to estimate the advantage of the pre-twisted effect for the vibration characteristics in a simple manner.

    This study deals with dynamic models of a human body and a bicycle during off-road cycling for optimization of the vibration characteristics of bicycle frame. A stability of a bicycle and a ride comfort depend on the characteristics of human-bicycle system. In addition, the mass ratio of a human body to a bicycle is extremely large as compared with other vehicles. Therefore, rider's posture becomes very important. In the present paper, the modal frequency and damping ratio of first mode of human body in vertical direction when the bicycle goes over an obstacle are estimated by experimental modal analysis. Especially, influence of condition of arms is clarified.

Therefore, the most suitable casting method will be clarified from the viewpoint of sports engineering and human dynamics. There are some types of casting techniques, overhead cast, side cast, false cast (forward cast and back cast), double haul cast and roll cast. In the case that there is an obstacle something like a tree, anglers can not do back cast while the false cast. In such situation, anglers have to select “Roll cast”. Roll cast consists of only forward cast. The arms motion of roll cast is different from the motion of forward cast. Therefore, the initial condition at the time anglers start the roll cast is important for the appropriate casting. In this paper, a rod, a line and arms are modeled by using rigid bodies and links. The time history behavior of the model is calculated by pseudo angler velocity of the arms. The difference of the arms motion between forward cast and roll cast is evaluated. And the line behavior with respect to the initial condition that anglers start casting is clarified.

    The frictional behaviour is effective for dissipating seismic energy. Therefore, in recent years, the installation of a frictional isolator in industrial facilities has been investigated. However, the seismic response of the friction system is obtained only by non-linear time history analysis. A great deal of time is required for non-linear time history analysis. The present study deals with the easy estimation of seismic response for friction system. In the previous study, the authors proposed a response spectrum for 1-dof system with friction. This paper shows the validity of friction response spectrum by vibration test using the experimental model of 1-dof friction system. The difference of seismic response between numerical and experimental results is sufficiently small. Therefore, the seismic response of a 1-dof friction system can be simply estimated by friction response spectrum.

    In recent years, huge earthquakes happen, for example, The South Hyogo prefecture Earthquake in 1995, The Mid Niigata Prefecture Earthquake in 2004, The Iwate-Miyagi Nairiku Earthquake in 2008. In The Niigataken Chuetsu-oki Earthquake in 2007, hundreds of drums fell down and water spilled out. A lot of studies about rocking behavior of rigid body had been performed from 1960's. However, these studies were only for a specific condition of the structure size or input vibration characteristics. Therefore, generalizes fall condition for earthquake is required. This paper deals with the analytical and the experimental study of the rocking vibration of 1-DOF rocking system, 2-DOF vibration-rocking system and 2-DOF rocking system under earthquakes. In this study, the equation of motion for each rocking systems are developed. The numerical model of 2-DOF rocking system is evaluated by free rocking experiment. In this paper, "Overturning Map" which can distinguish whether structures falls or not is proposed. The overturning map of each rocking systems excited by the artificial earthquake wave calculated from the design spectrum is shown. As the result, overturning condition of structures is clarified.

    We are surrounded by various sounds like the sound of the car, train, rain and all that in our daily life. It might become feelings very relieved, and come to want to prevent our ear unpleasantly at times. Then, it is thought that it is possible to pursue comfort of the specific sound source like an artificial machine noise by evaluating emotion caused by the sound. There are two methods of evaluating emotion. One is the subjective evaluation like the semantic differential method and the other is the objective evaluation method using biological information, such as electroencephalogram and electrocardiogram. And, a latter method is more certain and quantitative. This study establishes the method for quantitatively evaluating the comfort by measuring electroencephalogram. Then, an objective evaluation to an environmental sound is evaluated by this method.

    The friction force is effective for dissipating seismic energy. Therefore, in recent years, the installation of a frictional isolator in industrial facilities has been investigated. When a system including this isolator is regarded as multi-dof system, however, the seismic response of the system is obtained only by non-linear time history analysis. A great deal of time is required for non-linear analysis. In the present study, the easy estimation of seismic response for a multi-dof system with friction is considered. The seismic response of a multi-dof linear system can be obtained by the response spectrums method. This estimation is based on the modal analysis method. In the present paper, a method of modal separation for a 2-dof system with friction is presented. However, the accuracy of the proposed method depends on the mass ratio γ, the frequency ratio Rƒ and the friction force. The proposed method is compared with 2-dof non-linear time history analysis, and the accuracy of the proposed method is calculated at γ ≤ 0.1 and Rƒ ≤ 3. The present study defines the area within an error of 10% as the applicable area of the modal analysis method for a friction system and shows the range of error over 10%. The proposed method can be useful for obtaining the seismic response of a 2-dof friction system without non-linear time history analysis.

    For the past several years, seismic isolation systems have been focused in the seismic design of industrial facilities. This paper deals with the response reduction effect by friction. Friction is expected to decrease the relative displacement by dissipating the vibration energy. The relative displacement between structure and support becomes larger at long period in the case of linear system. Therefore, the response reduction effect by friction should be utilized positively in the seismic design. However, the response magnification of acceleration is used in the seismic design. The acceleration becomes larger by stick and slip motion. Therefore, the response reduction effect by friction is evaluated from the viewpoint of energy. The ratio between elastic energy and input energy is utilized. In this paper, "Response Reduction Map" based on energy for long period friction system is suggested. This map shows the range that energy response ratio is less than the ratio of the linear system. The response reduction map without complex non-linear time history calculation can easily obtain the proper parameters, such as natural period or friction force. At first in this study, the response reduction map by actual earthquake wave is shown. Next, the response reduction map by the artificial earthquake wave calculated from the design spectrum is shown.

    A human hears a sound and recognizes the pitch by its frequency. However, sometimes a human recognizes a sound as different frequency from actual frequency. The frequency that human feels is called "hearing frequency". On the other hand, impact sound is defined as the sound that occurs when a collision happened. We often hear an impact sound, but its "hearing frequency" has not been studied. In this study, "hearing frequency" of impact sound is investigated by experiment. First, an experiment using sample sound is taken place. This sample sound is short term waves which has some period waves. Next experiment is carried out using an imitation impact sound. Imitation impact sound is sinusoidal wave that have damping behavior in order to detect the influence of damping. Then, an experiment with various impact sounds that were recorded as the actual sound is proceeded. After that, an experiment with actual impact sound that has center frequency is carried out, in order to detect the influence of the center frequency. Results of these experiments show that the high frequency sound tends to be recognized as lower frequency than actual frequency. And low frequency sound tends to be recognized as higher frequency than actual frequency.

    This paper deals with the response reduction effect by friction under 2-dof system. The friction behaviour is effective for dissipating seismic energy. Therefore, in recent years, the installation of an isolator and a damper with frictional element in industrial facilities has been investigaed. In addition, the seismic response is reduced by the frictional vibration occurring between piping and support system. However, response acceleration of the system becomes larger by stick and slip motion. In this study, the response reduction effect of 2-dof friction system is evaluated by response energy, input energy and response acceleration. The ratio between elastic energy and input energy is utilized. In this paper, "Response reduction map" for 2-dof friction system based on energy and response acceleration are suggested. These map show the area that the response magnification is less than 1 and less than the response of linear system and the energy response ratio is less than the ratio of the linear system. Firstly, the time hisotry response of the input energy, the friction energy, the damping energy and the elastic vibration energy of 2-dof friction system are shown. Secondly, the response reduction map by the artificial seismic wave calculated from the design spectrum is shown. Optimum friction forces for reducing the response energy and response acceleration of 2-dof friction system can be easily obtained by this map without non-linear time history analysis.

    This paper deals with design method for Electromagnetic relay in consideration of the contact state of a contact spring under vibration. A contact spring can be described as a beam with boundary condition which depends on the contact force at the tip of a contact spring. However, the estimation of response of the beam is a complex problem. The present study makes the FEM model using element of two-dimensional beam for estimating the opening force at the tip of a beam by numerical analysis. The FEM model can be obtained the response acceleration and opening force under vibration. In addition, the opening force is approximately proportional to the maximum value of input acceleration. Therefore, the estimation method of contact condition can be useful for design of contact spring in Electromagnetic relay.

    This paper deals a seismic isolation system with nonlinear characteristics mechanism for a vertical seismic oscillation. The seismic isolation system consists of a rhombus shape link, horizontal coil springs and vertical coil springs. Restoring force of the system can be calculated by the geometric calculation. The authors propose a design principle of the system, using that natural period of the seismic isolation system can be calculated from its restoring force characteristics. A Seismic isolator using the nonlinear characteristics was actually made, and its restoring force characteristics were measured by static loading test From this experiment results, it revealed that the characteristics of the device can be accurately predicted from the design principle.

    The frictional behaviour is effective for dissipating seismic energy. Therefore, in recent years, the installation of a frictional isolator in industrial facilities has been investigated. In the present paper, the easy estimation of seismic respose for a 2-dof friction system based on a friction response spectrum and modal analysis method are proposed. Moreover, the applicable range of the proposed method is clarified by comparison with the result of non-linear time history analysis. The proposed method can obtain the seismic response of a 2-dof friction system immediately without non-linear time history analysis.

    For the past several years, seismic isolation systems have been focused in the seismic design of industrial facilities. This paper deals with the response reduction effect by friction. Friction is expected to decrease the relative displacement by dissipating the vibration energy. The relative displacement between structure and support becomes larger at long period in the case of linear system. Therefore, the response reduction effect by friction should be utilized positively in the seismic design. However, the response magnification of acceleration is used in the seismic design. The acceleration becomes larger by stick and slip motion. Therefore, the response reduction effect by friction is evaluated from the viewpoint of energy. The ratio between elastic energy and input energy is utilized. In this paper, “Response Reduction Map” based on energy forlong period friction system is suggested. This map shows the range that energy response ratio is less than the ratio of the linear system. The response reduction map without complex non-linear time history calculation caneasily obtain the proper parameters, such as natural period or friction force. In this study, the response reduction map by the artificial earthquake wave calculated from the design spectrum is shown.Next, the advanced friction damper is developed by using above energy based result. The friction part of the advanced friction damper is constructed by using MR fluid. The characteristics of the friction part are evaluated.

The physical characteristics of a human finger are important in the work by hand. Therefore, the physical and numerical modeling of fingertip is useful for the design of various equipments, for example, a handrail of stairs, a robot hand, an operation simulator, and so on. In this study, "Coulomb friction", "absorption by fingerprint and sweat" and "elasticity of finger" are considered as the element of the friction characteristics. The aim of this study is to express the force by these characteristics as function model and to make the physical fingertip model. At first, the force by friction and absorption are measured, and the contact area between fingertip and board is calculated. Next, the function of friction force with respect to vertical force acting on the contact surface between fingertip and board is suggested. Finally, the actual finger model is made and the friction force is modeled to the function.

In the case of lure fishing, casting is the element which anglers must master in order to cast a lure at an appropriate position. Lure fishing constitutes various elements, for example, casting, reeling, hooking and landing, but the importance that casting holds is extremely large. This study uses experimental and computational analyses to investigate the dynamic behavior of lure casting. The casting process and the timing of the lure released are important for the proper presentation of lure. Moreover, the shape of a rod before the lure released is important for a long cast or controlled cast. However, it is difficult to grasp the phenomenon or to make a numerical model. Therefore, the most suitable casting method will be clarified from the viewpoint of sports engineering and human dynamics. In this paper, the system of rod and lure is modeled, and the behavior of the rod and the flying distance of a lure are calculated. Especially, influence of lure weight is clarified.

Moreover, the shape of a rod before the lure released is important for a long cast or controlled cast. However, it is difficult to grasp the phenomenon or to make a numerical model. Therefore, the most suitable casting method will be clarified from the viewpoint of sports engineering and human dynamics. In this paper, the system of rod and lure is modeled, and the behavior of the rod and the flying distance of a lure are calculated in the case that line tension is considered. The difference of the behavior and flying distance with line tension is investigated. And suitable timing that angler releases the line is clarified. Moreover, hang length of lure is investigated and proper length is obtained.

In the case of fly-fishing, casting is the element which anglers must master in order to cast a fly, done so by using the weight of a line. This study uses experimental and computational analysis to investigate the dynamic behavior of a fly line. Fly-fishing constitutes various elements, but the importance that casting holds is extremely large. Fling speed, the casting process and the loop shape of the line while in flight are important for the proper presentation of flies. Moreover, the shape of a fly line is also important for a long cast or controlled cast. However, it is difficult to grasp the phenomenon or to make a numerical model because a fly line is an object of flexible string. Therefore, the most suitable casting method will be clarified from the viewpoint of sports engineering and human dynamics. In addition, measuring an angler performing movements with a flexible object such as a rod or a line is difficult. So establishing a method to measure the dynamic behavior precisely is also one of the purposes of this study. For the past study, motion of wrist and upper arm had been fixed to make a simple numerical model. However, upper arm, forearm and wrist move in the actual fishing field. In this paper, three input numerical model considering arm motion is established.

Design spectrum modified for long period structure is suggested. Response spectrum calculated by linear analysis using actual seismic waves is different from response spectrum of seismic design for the range of long period. In addition, friction isolator is expected to absorb seismic energy. This effect should be utilized positively in seismic design. However, seismic isolation effect depends on the friction characteristic of system. Therefore, adjustment of frictional force becomes very important. This paper shows Friction Response Spectrum for long period by the synthetic seismic wave using design spectrum. The Friction Response Spectrum is able to obtain the optimum frictional force of seismic isolation instead of non-linear analysis and estimate response magnification of long period system with friction. Moreover, equivalent damping ratio is estimated from Friction Response Spectrum for long period system. Equivalent damping ratio can easily calculate response of friction system.

The damage by amplitude increases with the coupled vibration is shown. The response magnification is obtained from natural frequency and damping ratio of the coupled system in the seismic design. Therefore, the natural frequency and damping ratio of the coupled system are required. The natural frequency and damping ratio of support and structure are obtained in initial design or vibration test. However, the natural frequency and the damping ratio of the coupled system are not easily obtained. The natural frequency of the coupled system can be calculated from theoretical equation, but the damping ratio cannot be easily calculated. In this study, the equation to calculate the damping ratio of the coupled system with Rayleigh damping is shown. The equivalent damping ratio without Rayleigh damping is estimated.

    This paper deals with response reduction effect by friction behavior. Friction is expected to absorb seismic energy. This effect should be utilized positively in seismic design. For past several years, seismic isolation structures have been focused in seismic design of industrial facilities. Seismic isolation effect is controlled by the friction characteristic exists in friction support. Therefore, adjustment of frictional force becomes a very important. In this paper, "Response Reduction Map" for long period friction system is suggested. This map shows the range that response magnification is less than 1 and less than the response of linear system. The response reduction map without complex non-linear time history response calculation can easily obtain the response magnification. At first in this study, the response reduction map by actual earthquake wave is shown. Next, the response reduction map by the artificial earthquake wave calculated using design spectrum is shown.

    A human being laughs in every day life when happy, and a facial expression changes unconsciously. It is thought that the expression has close relation to emotion. The facial expression is more intelligibly than the expression by word, and can convey a delicate nuance when introducing emotion. Communication with a different foreigner is possible by a facial expression and a gesture. In this way, the role that a facial expression serves as by communidation is very big. The aim of this study is to improve a mental condition by the intentionally modified facial expression. The final aim is application to a field of the medical welfare, hi this article, quantitative evaluation method is utilized for the evaluation of emotion by using electroencephalogram. The frequency fluctuation of brain waves which is said that individual difference is small is focused. The first step of this article, the evaluation method of emotion is proposed. And next step, smile which typically pleasant is focused. Optical smile induced pleasant emotion is found.

    To measure human's feelings and moods is very important for improving life. For example, that makes it possible getting rid of stress which caused by making a living and developing more attractive products. There are two techniques of evaluating comfort. One is the subjective method like the SD method and the other is the objective evaluation technique using bioinformation, such as electroencephalogram and electrocardiogram. In this article, the latter evaluation method is utilized for the evaluation comfort by using electroencephalogram and electrocardiogram quantitatively. The frequency fluctuation of brain waves which is said that individual difference is small is focused. The evaluation method of comfort mind is proposed.

    Human beings get outer information by the senses, and the function by vision and hearing are the most important in getting them. However, if vision and hearing are not able to work, it is difficult to get them clearly. So a tactile sense can be considered as new information-acceptance organ. In present, there are many experiments in a tactile sensor. In this study, the method of transmitting information using vibration to a tactile sense is considered. Then we picked the sense of vibration at the palm and grasping a handrail, and experimented with vibration at the palm and using the model which imitated a handrail.

    This study uses experimental and computational analysis to investigate the dynamic behavior of a fly line. Fly-casting is one of the most significant issues in fly-fishing, In order to cast a lightweight fly, the weight of a fly line is utilized. Fling speed, the casting process and the loop shape of the line while in flight are important for the proper presentation of flies. Moreover, the shape of a fly line is also important for a long cast or controlled cast. In this paper, the fly-casting process is investigated experimentally. In addition, the system of a fly line and a rod is modeled and calculated.

    Thin plate structures are used to various product structures. They are light and easy to treat. However, to make their rigidity up, it needs to use curved plates or concavoconvex plates, ..., and, to reduce noise sound from plate structures, it needs to attach damping sheet. It has to be clear how to consider basic design philosophy for low vibration and noise of thin plate structures. Then, in this research of noise reduction design for thin plate structures, we study on control to vibration modes of them. And, for a good example, we investigate the transfer function of a steel drum.

    A human being can feel signals with five senses such as vision, hearing, sense of touch, sense of smell, and taste. If we rely on vision and hearing, we become hardly to understand signals, in case that information variety or quantity is increased. As a message measure that such a case can get complementary, the sense of touch is thought about. In this paper, vibration signals are investigated. Vibration signal is a vibration we use with special purposes or intentions. Vibration signal can transmit information to a person through the sense of touch. Vibrators of portable phones are one kind of examples. They tell us only arrival of the call. We can not discriminate who call us. If we are able to make various types of vibration signals, they can help the sense of sight and hearing. The purpose of this study is to investigate on human sensitivity of vibration frequency, vibration envelope pattern and of parts of body that receive signals, and to propose the most suitable vibration signal for information.

    A human being laughs in every day life when happy, and a facial expression changes unconsciously. It is thought that the facial expression has close relation to feelings and Kansei. The facial expression is more intelligibly than the expression by word, and can convey a delicate nuance when introducing feelings. Intention communication with a different foreigner is possible by a facial expression and a gesture. In this way, the role that a facial expression serves as by communication is very big. The aim of this study is to control a mind state by the intentionally modified facial expression. The final aim is the application to a field of the medical welfare. In this study, measuring the behavior of each muscle of a face using electromyogram in order to evaluate the expression quantitatively elucidates the mechanism of a facial expression. Six facial expressions is paid attention. When a human being made a facial expression intentionally, it is thought that a mind state changes by the facial expression. For example, it is said that a mind state is stable unconsciously when making a smile intentionally. On the other hand, it is thought that a mind state becomes unstable when a partner makes a facial expression of anger. In this way it is thought that a mind state is closely related to a facial expression, but there are many subjects that have not been elucidated. So the relation of a facial expression and a mind state is cleared from bio-information such as electromyogram or brain waves as an engineering approach and will be applied to the medical welfare.

    This study deals with the experimental and analytical procedure for the dynamics of fly line. The casting is one of the most significant issues on the fly-fishing. The flies are the aquatic insects that imitate mayfly, caddis fly and stonefly. Anglers cast these flies for the area where fish are found. In order to present the lightweight flies, the weight of fly line is utilized for casting. The loop shape of the line while it flies, fling speed and casting process are important for the proper presentation of the flies. Moreover, the shape of fly line is also the important element for the long cast or the control cast, hi this report, fly-casting process is investigated experimentally. The fly line and rod system is modeled and calculated by using multibody dynamics.

    In this papar the dynamic characteristics of "2-degree-of-freedom Houde Damper" are investigated. "2-DOF Houde Damper" is new type of houde damper that is a kind of dynamic absorber. Vibration energy of system is absorbed by vibrating 2-DOF systems in the damper. And that energy is consumed by damping element in the damper. In this study, a dynamic model of the clamper is made. The dynamic characteristics of the damper are examined by the results of numerical analysis. The numerical model of this damper is applied to one degree of freedom system.

    The dynamic characteristics of piping system installed in industrial facilities have to be recognized as one of the significant issues in economic and safety design consideration. Piping systems are generally connected to supporting structures at several points by means of devices such as guides, spring hangers, hydraulic or mechanical snubbers and certain energy absorbers. When friction damper attracts attention, the amount of energy dissipation at contact surface is restricted, because the maximum displacement of sliding motion is limited by the clearance of the equipment. In order to increase the amount of energy dissipation, the ball screw type magnetic friction damper is proposed. This damper is expected to increase the energy dissipation by converting one directional motion to rotating motion by ball screw. In this work, the fundamental characteristics of proposed damper are clarified. The numerical model is made considering parameters obtained from testing, and the results from simulation are compared with the results from testing.

    In this paper, the basic characteristics of "Ball Screw Type Magnetic Friction Damper" are investigated. "Ball Screw Type Magnetic Friction Damper" is a kind of friction damper. Ball Screw is used to increase the sliding displacement by changing translation into rotation. Restoring force occurs mainly by friction force between rotation disk and fixed disk with permanent magnet. In this study, a small product of the damper is made. The characteristics of the damper are examined by the results from shaking test and the results of numerical analysis. The numerical model of this damper is applied the damper to one degree of freedom system in order to investigate response magnification of this system. Permanent magnet is changed into an electromagnet to control the resting force. Possibility of the damper as a semi-active one is investigated.

    This report deals with the experimental and analytical study of seismic response behavior of piping systems in industrial facilities such as petro-chemical, oil refinery and nuclear power plants. Piping is generally put on the supporting structures. Therefore, frictional vibration occurs between piping and supporting system during seismic excitation. Special attention is focused on this nonlinear frictional dynamic responses of piping systems due to frictional vibration appearing among piping and supporting devices. Two mock-up piping structure models are excited by large scale shaking table. FEM models are made from the mock-up piping of shaking test, and modal parameters of linear system are calculated. The time history responses are calculated by nonlinear response analysis using calculated modal parameters. Friction response spectrum are proposed to calculate the maximum responses having frictional behavior. The maximum responses calculated by friction response spectrum are compared with the maximum responses obtained by experiment.

    プラント施設内の配管とそれを支持する架講の間に介在する非線形現象(がたや摩擦)に注目し,その応答低減効果を明らかにしてきた。また,摩擦支持配管系の簡易耐震設計法の提案を行ってきた。現在は摩擦力と磁力を利用した配管用の新型ダンパ(機械学会論文集,C-67,2001)など各種ダンパの開発を行っている。その一方,感性工学やスポーツ工学,騒音低減などの研究も行っている。
