3E (Economic Efficiency, Environmental Safeguard and Energy Security) has been regarded as the most important factor in energy policy decision-making. However, it is required to reconsider energy system after FUKUSHIMA with other aspects like human security and resilience. In this paper, we aim to offer fundamentals basis for discourse on energy security by analyzing current status and trends of academic publications on that issue. The results revealed various aspects of energy security which include energy policy, biofuel, oil import, natural gas, climate change and low-carbon, economy and cost, biodiesel, governance, EU, bioenergy, Markal model, strategy, China, Middle east, battery, and hydrogen.

We examine a relationship between social welfare and energy and environmental polices by means of market equilibrium models. It is found that social welfare for a case in which government chooses from some polices is larger than that for each one. However, the difference becomes small as the damage cost of greenhouse gas emissions increases. We also develop a multi-agent based simulation model, that is, a bottom-up approach in order to analyze an effect of renewable energy policy on agents' behaviors in the market. When the market system has homogeneous agents, the result is consistent with that for theoretical models of a top-down approach. In addition, consumers' utility values for energy-mix and retail electricity prices are estimated by using conjoint analysis. It is shown that the consumers might be able to allow for the energy-mix level of government target. Our work, therefore, contributes to the recent debates to the power system innovation, and energy and environmental policy.

The Electric power supply network model has been designed for energy security should be stable and durable in long term for future generations under uncertainty. Thus, the sustainable energy system requires two important properties that are robustness and resilience when hazards become a real event, in order to minimize the impact form shock and/ or stress for energy security.

  • Research about the Effect of Investment to Universities, to Contribute to Science Promotion Policy

We have shown some evidence that investment to universities leads to economic growth. We conclude that the effects of universities are divided into some sorts of effects of increasing income, growing industry, inducing innovation, producing consumption and employment, and identify those effects by analyzing statistically and case study.
We figure out how much activities of national universities affect Japanese economy, and how much income university hospitals will gain in case they open on Saturdays through financial additional investment. The noticeable finding is that investment to university hospitals give rise to immediate and big effect. We identify investment to universities are more effective than that to public works in terms of job-producing.
We gain much evidence about what kind of faculties are acquired through higher education, and in what kind of work they are helpful, by surveying consciousness of graduates of some universities .
