This study aims to design a practical program to aid university students who intend to become early childhood education and care teachers in acquiring the ability to express themselves through creative music-making with others. For this purpose, I organized a practical program on creative music-making and implemented it to verify its effectiveness through empirical research methods. I analyzed reflection papers students wrote to clarify the elements and the theoretical framework related to the process in which students generated ideas about creative music-making. This study was able to present the process through which students demonstrated their creativity through creative music-making activities with others. I believe that the findings of this study can be applied to creative music-making and creative activities in collaboration with others.

This study aims to explain the environment and methods to support children's singing using their listening skills. First, I observed children’s singing activities in four kindergartens and analyzed the process of children learning songs. Second, I interviewed teachers about how and why they designed their singing environment. Based on this research, I designed a singing practice to investigate the role of different musical instruments in the accompaniment of children’s singing and compared their voices with piano accompaniment and other instruments. I also described the children's verbal and physical behavior on being introduced to several musical instruments in the classroom. The result showed that children seem to be more interested in and more carefully listened to sounds.
