Purpose - The main purpose of this article is to discuss cultural norms in the process of handing down traditional folk music. In doing so, I focus on learning what successors of the tradition think about the orthodoxy of their music and what they think is the ideal way to pass down cultural heritage. In addition, considering that cultural norms are socially constructed in the moment, it should be also examined what leads people to have such notions.Design/methodology/approach - To achieve these purposes, I look at practices of handing down traditional folk music in Japan, developing five case studies of various ohayashi. I also analyze Yosakoi, which is modernly arranged local folk music that is widely spread across the country in the form of community festivals.Findings - The successors of traditions tend to consider tracing the roots of their music as an obligation. On the other hand, in the case of music with no exact origin, its successors seek to find their identities by learning lessons from local anonymous ancestor. Meanwhile, there are people who consider its economic value as a raison d'être for traditional music.Originality/value of power - What gives originality to this chapter is that I adopt an approach, employing regional and urban sociology methods, of comparing the characteristics of the regions in which local folk music is based. Along with perspectives on macro social changes and the principle of music group formation, I also discuss the transformation of expertise in folk culture associated with the rise of institutional reflexivity.

Recently, higher education facilities increasingly adopt the business studies and internship. But, in many cases, there involve issues concerning the setting of educational objective and content and the cooperation between office and school. As it is now, those efforts rarely bring in benefit for both sides. So, in this article, we go into details of the internship by cooperation between 'Onahama Port Office' and Fukushima National College of Technology, pointing out the evaluations and issues, so that our finding helps following efforts aimed at making a suggestion based on the survey.

In a study tour centered on the visit of the earthquake disaster ruins, residents emphasize the destruction of daily life due to the earthquake. As a result, those who have not suffered tend to think that they cannot share the experiences of the victims easily. Nevertheless, they must learn about disaster in order to prepare for the disaster risk. Therefore, it is important to know that the earthquake is not just a past event, but directly related to the present life. In this way, providers of “care tourism” must avoid visitors from superficially understanding the experiences of the victims. To do so, it is necessary for the provider and the visitor to share the future-oriented thought and make the visitors think that the disaster is deeply related to themselves. The requirements for the establishment of care tourism are efforts by providers to increase the risk awareness of visitors, and consideration not to enforce such effects.

We conducted interview surveys with temporary housing residents' association formed by the nuclear power plant accident refugees from Naraha and Tomioka town, and people in the district association before the disaster. The following three were clarified. 1) A temporary residents association officer, member's return town / evacuation destination at the settlement site, we look back on the temporary residence association and interview about activities in the return town, residence destination revealed changes of relationships. 2) Through interviews with public housing association officers and residents, we clarified the current situation and problems of the association's activities and the future directionality. 3) We understand the activities and issues of organizations formed mainly by the people who returned home, and the opportunities and processes of "connections" by the network, by grasping trends in settlements at shelters and interactions after returning home.
