It is considered that parents change as a result of child-rearing, which leads to their personal growth. In recent Japanese society, however, many parents and families have difficulties in child-rearing. Especially, mothers have much anxiety related to child-reaing. This study examined the significance of “parenting” by parents. People become parents as a result of selecting and deciding to have a child. Simultaneously, they come to parent by selecting and deciding to raise a child. As their children grow up, parents come to face themselves through parent-child relationships. In other words, “Parenting” means “Protecting and raising children within the parent-child relationship as a result of the parents facing themselves.” However, many parents cannot parent despite having become parents. It is considered essential to have knowledge and awareness about parenting before becoming a parent and recognize personal changes resulting from parenting.

“Humanitude” is a French-origin care method for dementia patients, developed by Gineste and Marescotti. This method has 4 pillars of the methodology; how to look,talk,touch and stand up. To look, to talk, to touch are basic care act, and to stand has a philosophical meaning; human dignity and autonomy and has effects on skeletal muscles and circulatory system. There is a philosophical approach about human being in the base of this methodology. Gineste and Marescotti had sought the answer of the question about a “human” and had explored a methodology which shows the respect to person’s dignity.The philosophy of Humanitude has three viewpoints. The first is an anthropological consideration, second is a consideration on social system and norms surrounding the caring for aged people. And the third is a consideration from a physiological view. This paper investigated the anthropological aspect of the philosophy of Humanitude.The anthropological aspect of the Humanitude shows the world of dementia patients live and feel, and teaches that what is same and what is different to us. This anthropological questioning leads the methodology; how to show the respect to the patients and how to communicate with these people. As the method of the Humanitude is based on this anthropology, we need to have an anthropological consideration about human and a child in the childcare principal. It would be a basic principal for caregivers’ views on care and education, and their act for children. And then they can embody the worth of early childhood education and care based on the child anthropology.

Recently, J.Korczak is being recognized as one of the persons who are in the ideological background of the establishment of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, in Japan. Korczak wrote a lot of work as a writer and as an educator. Among his works written for children, there are educational values for adults and teachers. The aim of this paper is to consider the pedagogical value of Korczak’s writing “When I am little again” by using the idea of M.Buber’s “Umfassung (Embracing)” as a key concept. In this work, Korczak tells the story of one teacher who returns to the childhood again and who has not forgotten his life experience as an adult. Korczak presents the world of children through the eyes of a child and through the eyes of adult. In this work there are two features. The first one is that the hero has a double perspective: the eyes of a child and an adult. Second is, in the story sometimes the hero temporarily suspend the story and speaks to the audience (the reader) “you”. This “you” is sometimes a child and sometimes adult. This narrative includes a pedagogical meanings, it is one of the factors that this writings is regarded as pedagogical book. The “Umfassung” is that in the relation of two personalities (teacher and pupil), ‘this one person (teacher), without forfeiting anything of the felt reality of his activity, at the same time lives through the common event from the standpoint of the other’(M.Buber). And the most important thing in “Umfassung” is not to understand children, but to question the teacher’s own act and to continue to question what she/he should do as a teacher. In Korczak’s story, when his hero encounters an event as a child, he reflects on his behavior as an adult. Therefore this book provides the simulated experience of “Umfassung” for readers and encourages teacher to have a rethink about his/her act to children.

The aim of this study was clarifying the awareness of wood utilization, wooden-product in childcare workers including kindergarten teachers. A questionnaire asked childcare workers their awareness towards current situation of facilities and their opinions regarding using wooden-products.The results of the survey showed that many wooden-furniture and fittings like table, chair and rocker have been using in most early childhood education, but they have been using articles of consumption like toy, play equipment, or teaching material which made from other materials. The survey also revealed that many of childcare workers lack of knowledge and experience about wooden-products like timber or log, although many of them would like to use wood and wooden-products in daily activities. More importance has been attached to diversity of play when they pick up wooden toy but also safety, sanitary, durability in early childhood education.

Hekimenkousei , or hekimensoushoku , refers to the creation of displays which adorn preschool classroom walls, and may include material created by the children or their teachers. Although such displays have long been a familiar element in the preschool environment, serious research examining their purpose and effectiveness has been rare. In this study, a group of preschool and kindergarten teachers were surveyed according to various aspects of hekimensoushoku . Based on their responses, a thorough examination of the qualities and effectiveness of these displays was conducted.Many subjects noted that as a vital environmental feature, wall displays contribute uniquely to the atmosphere of the preschool classroom, and that the quality of their color, layout, andconstruction all contribute to their effectiveness. At the same time, a great number of those surveyed admitted that due to time and budgetary limits, they often rely at least partially on readymade visual material from educational publications and other sources to create attractive displays.However, building the displays together with and incorporating material made by the children into the displays, they felt, provided the children with valuable creative and evaluative experiences.

The purposes of this study are to examine the definition of "best interests of young children" and to determine how to encourage recognition of "the rights of young children" and the principle of their best interests in nursery schools, based on the idea of Polish Educator, Janusz Korczak (1878-1942.) The concept of what is in a child's best interests was ambiguous even at the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, but its most essential point concerns "the voice of children". The questionnaire survey to nursery school teachers suggests there is a necessity to establish firmly in each nursery teacher's mind the concept of young children's rights in order to implement the ideal of "best interests." It is especially important for pre-service teachers to become aware of "the voice" of young children and to acquire professional skills to understand it.

これまで、乳幼児の権利は限定的なものであり、子どもの権利条約成立過程においても、乳幼児の権利への言及は、保護に関わる事項が主であり、意見表明権は乳幼児を対象にしたものではなかった。国連子どもの権利委貝会による「一般的注釈第7号」「乳幼児期における子どもの権利の実施」は、乳幼児が子どもの権利条約に規定された全ての権利の保有者であることを明記している。同委員会が強調しているのは、乳幼児の感情さえも尊重に値する意見である、ということである。コルチャックもまた、乳幼児の「涙と微笑みの言語」に耳を傾け、尊重することを強く要求している。コルチャックの乳児・幼児の権利観は、子どもの権利条約の理念への認乱と理解を深めるものであると考える。Historically the rights of young children were limited. Even in the process of the enactment of Convention on the Rights of the Child. Most of the mentions in young children were about protection and the right to express one's views was not applied to young children. The "General Comments 0.7": "Implementing Childs Rights in Early Childhood" by the Committee on the Rights of the Child describe clearly that young children are holders of all rights enshrined in the Convention. The Committee underlined even feelings of young child are "views" deserving of our respects. Korczak also urgeed to listen and respect young children's "the speech of tears and smiles". In this thesis. I propose that his ideas of young children and their rights can lead us to gain an appreciation and understanding of the philosophy of Convention on the Rights of the Child.

“Interactive childcare ” presupposes a one-to-one polite and sincere relationship with one child and this childcare means that a nursery/kindergarten teacher respects a child as a human being. For patient can keep realizing that she/he is respected as a human being, Humanitude teaches that the care practitioner keeps communicating positive message to a patient with verbal and non-verbal means during caring and nursing.
This study designed a Principle of the interactive childcare based on Humanitude. Basic behaviors of Humanitude are “gaze”, “talk” and “touch”, and these basic behaviors are also basic and important ways in childcare. Therefore, this principle presents these behaviors and added “wait”. Four behaviors are means to practice “interactive childcare”, and this principle shows meanings and significance of these four behaviors.

The purpose of this study was to develop a school teachers and nursery school teachers training program for implementing the rights of a child.In this study "the rights of a child" means that the child's rights as human-being advocated by J.Korczak(1878-1942),so at first I reported the theory and the educational methods practicing in Avihail school in Israel. This school implements Korczak's legacy and their practice was highly appreciated.
The important point of implementing the rights of the child is "dialogue",which can put the theory into a concrete way. Consequently, the training program consists of the three steps and the each step focuses on the sharing a sense of values of the theory about the rights and the educational philosophy, and an improvement of an ability and skills to have a dialogue between teachers, and between a teacher and a child.
